I dreamed about a cat last night! It was gray and very nice, and rubbed all over my hands.

I wish Simon or Nat would be here so I could play with my Breyer horses or something.

((Young!Ellie (fidget_kitten) isn't an alternate of simply_ellie, but rather is Ellie, just ten years ago. She's only able to find the Nexus when she's dreaming, and considers everything that happens there to be part of her dreams and not real. If she ever comes into contact with Nexus LOL, the results will wear off when she wakes. Likewise, anything that's scary or disturbing to her will make her wake up just like a nightmare would do to one of us.

Young!Ellie won't be seen too often, and she'll never cross paths with simply_ellie since they're the same person. Because simply_ellie found the Nexus by daydreaming, we thought it would be fitting for fidget_kitten to find it by the same means. Another consideration was that given the stress of her tentative diagnosis, Ellie's been remembering back to a time when nothing bad had happened yet -- no Daisy, no Matt, and no disease.

As far as her personality goes, this is just a glimpse of what fourteen-year-old Ellie was like. She was a little on the quiet side, and didn't have any close neighbors with children to play with. Summer vacations tended to be a bit on the lonely side, though she does get to ride her family's horses more often and sometimes gets to talk with the farmhands.

Breyer horses -- and Brenda Breyer -- were some of her favorite toys, and ones she wanted to play with long after the time she was "supposed" to give them up. She's just started 9th grade and is too shy to be one of the popular kids in school and has never been kissed -- let alone anything else -- yet. An average student who gets mainly A's and B's, she's more interested in getting back home in time to ride her horse before dinner.
